Challenge your limits and transform your life
in bella Italia!
10/19/13 - 10/25/13
Join us for a journey of discovery that speaks to the soul and reorients the spirit. Transformational travel is the willingness to embrace the power of adventure as a vehicle to self understanding.
When we venture beyond the boundaries of our everyday lives and slip out of our cultural constraints, we find ourselves opening to possibility, imagining a life of greater meaning, and seeing ourselves in a new light.
This unforgettable week will combine the thrill of exploring the magnificent coastal towns of Liguria, soaking in local tradition, and feasting on Ligurian food and wines with focused self-exploration workshops and quiet writing time.
Explore the Italian Riviera with travel writer and author Lynn O'Rourke Hayes and author and writing coach Susan Pohlman for an unforgettable week in Liguria. We'll gather in the region of Italy made famous in Susan’s memoir, Halfway to Each Other.
The retreat will unfold at the Villa Pagoda, a beautifully restored 200 year-old villa on the Ligurian Sea in Nervi, Italy. This 17 room, secluded refuge is the perfect place for a luxurious and meaningful Italian adventure. Forever, you may recall finding your way down the Villa's private walkway to the Anita Girabaldi promenade, a magnificent brick walkway that hugs the coast.
Your leisurely stroll along the rocky shore, with new friends or on your own, is one you may long remember as your first few steps in a freshly invigorated journey!
"This retreat in Italy was a dream come true. It is impossible not to be inspired by the Ligurian coast with its rugged mountains, aquamarine water, trompe l'oeil buildings and vivid characters. Susan balanced the experience with humor and grace leading us through the fundamentals of writing and journaling with delightful and colorful excursions that allowed for storytelling to evolve organically. The trip was well planned and a delight for all the senses. I was at a crossroads in my life, as my children have grown and my parents have aged, I felt trapped in the bondage of life somewhere in between. This trip helped put it all into perspective. It was truly a life altering experience for me. "
